I am post-diabetes. Keeping my eyes on my levels and my diet, been doing that great until I stopped testing with dario fr 20 days. Then decided to start testing again with some strips I still have open from my last package.After 4 days living scared that my fasting levels are starting to go up ~190, I tested with another device and got 96.Then researched and found out that expired strips do test false.What a relief when I read that 1 month old strips (after package open) do read higher levels.pfew, new package gave me more accurate numbers.I read some feedback here and I second that.1-Month-Old strips are not accurate.I'm not diabetic, there is no family history of the disease, and I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle. But, with all of the talk about watching your blood sugar, I purchased the Dario monitor in December 2020. I don't use it that often, only when I'm not feeling my best. I was running low on strips and lancets - I only had the samples that came with the device, so I purchased a full set.A few days ago I decided to test my glucose when I woke up. (I still had a few strips left from the original kit and didn't want to waste them. I didn't realize strips expire. There was no date printed on the strips.)My morning glucose is usually normal, about 90. This time it was 154 and I had not had any food or drink other than water. That was scary. I waited in denial a few days and this afternoon mustered the courage to test again. Four hours after I ate a healthy, high-protein breakfast (tofu scramble), my glucose registered 289. Now I'm panicking.Then after a few minutes, the calm, wise, sensible part of my brain wondered if it was giving me a false reading. I searched online and found a post on the Dario site that said that expired strips can give a false result. I immediately cracked open one of the new packs and tested again with fresh strips. My glucose was 84.Moral of the story - when you monitor your glucose, monitor the expiration date on the strips.I marked it a 4, not 5 but only because every 5th one gives an error. Works as described but not all of them.Must be careful handling to ensure a good reading. Expensive but very few errors.I have had lab work done recently. I’ll check accuracy at that timeI’ve been using Dario for 2 years! Great product and support. They have a great customer support group. Very simple to use.Accurate readings I purchased monthly. I recommend this productThis product is extremely easy to use & is great for traveling since it is very compact. The strip requires a very small amount of blood to get an accurate reading making for a much smaller stick. The free app is also excellent in tracking with several other great features. The app also sends the data to my iPhone's 'heart' app if you track fitness or other data. Since this purchase, I have also purchased the Dario blood pressure system which also reports to their app for tracking. Highly recommended.
