During the production process, this album was heralded by the band as 'Folk Metal 2.0'; they delivered. Pristine folk instruments blended with powerful guitars, explosive drums and a brick wall rhythm section are interwoven with excellent lyrics. The production is perfect and Keith's angry vocals cut through the mix like a double-edged sword. The band's ability to flip time signatures in the middle of a song is also showcased on this release. All of the songs are amazing, but Prophecy is my favorite. You mosh a bit, dance an Irish jig a bit, than mosh some more, just an amazing experience all the way around.This album is not for the faint of heart, the closed-minded fool, cookie cutter pop fanatic or trend-following lemming lemming; this is metal meant for the person capable of cognitive thought. The band delves into the history of the early tribes that inhabited what we now know as Ireland. They explore themes from its ancient religions and tribes to the fallout of the recent uncovering of the abuse of children by the Irish contingent of the catholic church. Some of the material is historically enlightening, and some of it gets dark, but it is all 100%, straight-on, historically accurate truth.
