I don't quite understand what the previous reviewer meant, but I purchased the MP3 version and it had full version for every song. The music is beautiful. It is a nice change from the vulgarity which has been popularized by today's too-modern-of-a-world.In The Land Of Blood & Honey is Angelina Jolie's debut film of a love story set within the Bosnian War. A film that is beautifully shot with Gabriel Yared handling scoring duties. Instead of a full length album of his score we get a song album with only 9 minutes of score. Now, I haven't seen the film but I have to imagine there's more than 9 minutes of score in this 2 hour film. I don't know if the purpose of the album was to get Bosnian artists some recognition and residuals, but I can say the teasing amount of what sounds like an amazing score is frustrating. What we have here is good. The score is propulsive yet has the proper tone. It can be mellow and dreary but it has an energy to it. Some of it is reflective and hopeful with light strings and a trickling piano. There is a romantic feel to it with a tragic undertone and it's done very well. So yeah, 1 song and 3 score tracks by Yared. What follows is a nice selection of Bosnian songs (and 1 performed by Bono). What should have been a great score release becomes more of a fundraising album. It's a great sampling of a nation's sound but if you're looking for a score album you're out of luck. It's impossible to grasp any dramatic flow from the 3 tracks of score and I wish they went the separate album route. However, I could be wrong and when I see the film and find out there was no score I will eat my words. There is only one way to ensure that both composer and producer know that such song albums as this, that excise orchestral score, in great part, from background songs (or songs associated in some way with the film), are vulgar and unacceptable. Commercial, or, to be kind, aesthetic, considerations that guide such productions are equally unacceptable. I don't know if the director had any influence at all in this matter, but if she did, she also needs to hear from disappointed customers. To be fair, this is not the first time Mr. Yared has produced such albums. There are times when the inclusion of "songs" is appropriate. I imagine that Mr. Yared knows this and hope that he is studious in making decisions of this kind...though I imagine that he rarely has much say in the matter.Never seen the film but I bought this because I've always liked Gabriel Yared's scores. The music on this cd is ok but out of thirteen tracks only three (about 9 minutes in all) are composed by Yared. It's almost misrepresentation to advertise this under his name. I'll be more careful next time.Absolut KlasseFilm mit sehr ernstem Thema, vor dem Hintergrund des 90er Balkankonfliktes. Die Musik dazu sehr eindringlich dank nationalem Kolorit. Tolle Darsteller. Sowohl Film, als auch Musik absolut empfehlenswert. Danke Amazon
