The watch is very good looking and classy. Features are also as good as other smart watches. The only issue is its weight. At the beginning it feels heavy, but as you go on wearing it, you will get used to its weight. I bought it for my brother as a gift and he loves it.When it works, it's great. However, after spending hours upon hours getting it set up (fossil support is slow and not helpful), I cannot recommend this watch to anyone.Update (Sept 1, 2022):After a factory reset of my phone while in my pocket, I once again had to spend hours reconnecting this watch to my phone.During research for a solution, I found the issue may be related to an Android bug in version 10+ (I have Android v12). Older versions of Android and iOS on iPhone appear to work as expected.The first time I got the watch connected was by using my son's iPhone to link the watch to my account. It then took many attempts (I think the OS might need to be in the right state) to connect my watch to my Android 12 phone.The second time, I used my old Android 8 (the Fossil app says it needs Android 10+ but does not) to link my watch to the account and then again many attempts (constantly clicking Try Again) to get it connected to my Android 12.I can only recommend this watch it you are going to be using an iPhone or an old Android with it. It is not worth the headache on current Android devices.Hmm, what to say about the Gen 6 Hybrid? These are great for just the right sort of person, but they occupy a weird place in the smartwatch/fitness band category. They offer some useful features like heart rate detection, blood oxygen saturation, and some basic fitness or workout features. But they do not offer everything that a full-blown smartwatch does, yet they still cost the same amount as something like an Apple Watch SE.One strong point for this device that I noticed right away when I started wearing it is the build quality and durability of the materials. It's made of very strong looking metal on the watch and the band (at least with this specific Machine version. If I had to take a chance of dropping a smartwatch or having it whack up against something, I would rest easy if it was this one.You still get all your iPhone's notifications; you just can't really interact with them like you can with a watch made by the same company that makes your smartphone. There is a timer and stopwatch functionality built in, I really appreciate the former. I think that the e-ink display looks really great, and the high contrast makes it easy to read in direct sunlight. There is also weather and Alexa integration, but they will depend on an internet connection on your phone (relayed to the watch over Bluetooth).Alexa will display her responses in text form, but you can still ask Alexa for anything you could on a smart speaker, just keep in mind that you won't have access to media sources or things like your flash briefing as those require a speaker of some kind. You also have the option to not connect this watch with your Amazon account, because it will be asking for fitness and health data when you first link up the Alexa/Amazon account (which is absurd and shouldn't be needed).There is a selection of premade watch faces, but you can also customize them or make your own design. You can actually get it to display quite a bit of useful info at once. The only complaint that I have with this is that it can take a little longer than I feel like it should to get your heartrate and blood oxygen takes twice than long and will display an error if you move even the slightest amount.Build quality:This is a solid watch. It's a quality watch, especially at this price point. It's solidly built.Sizing:You're going to need a home sizer to size out the band, or obviously you can take it to any jewelry store for sizing.It'll fit just over an 8 inch wrist without issue.Set-up:It's very easy to link this watch to any Android or iOS phone. I was up and running within 5 minutes.Instructions:They're....Not good. You'll need to do some guess work at times. However, this is a super simple hybrid watch in terms of operating system.Signal strength:I can pick up notifications from up to 30 feet.Notification accuracy and timelines:As long as I'm in range, I get notifications almost instantly.Accuracy:Heart rate is +/- 2%Blood Oxygen is +/- 7%Steps is +/- 1%GPS is "sufficient"Reading the screen:During the day, no issues. At night, you may struggle to read it, especially if there's not much ambient light around.Sports modes:If you're buying this watch with any plans of heavily using it while you're exercising, this watch isn't for you. It's simply not tailored for that experience.Battery life:I averaged 1 day longer than the max listing time.Bottom line:If you want a very nice hybrid watch, and only want basic metrics, this is a very nice watch. However, if you're someone who uses your watch for athletics regularly, this is simply not tailored for that type of use.I'm giving this watch 4 stars because as a true hybrid, it's one of the 3 best I've ever used.4 stars
