Product Description

The bad boy. The fuck up. The thief. That was me. Once a king, now a wanderer. I'd thrown the best parts of me away, over and over again. I was reckless. Still am. I'd been exiled. Twice. I did my time. I've cleaned up. Well, sort of. I got plans. Yeah, good ones. Then I ran into her. A bolt of lightning-startling, unsettling, breathtaking, out of reach. The woman I once scorned years ago is now the woman I can't live without. I need what I didn't think I'd ever need again. I want and want and want. Torture. She's the epicenter of the war I've triggered, of the battle in my rusted heart. I may be as reckless as I ever was, but I'm determined as fuck. To hell with it. I want it all.

Wow! What a whirlwind experience. When I learned that the next book in the series would feature Butler, I was a little disappointed bc I LOVE Fingers and was intrigued with his story. Then when I learned at the beginning of this book that Finger and Tania were not going to be a couple, well I was just about thru. But when I went on the journey with Tania and Butler as they fell in love, I was SO GLAD that Finger and Tania were not meant to be bc Tania and Butler together were about the healing and redemptive power of love.I was able to get over Finger and Tania not being a couple about 25% into the book the first time Butler called Tania "baby". Lord have mercy!!! There is something about a man saying baby in an emotionally intimate moment that makes you feel weak in the knees!!!! I loved experiencing the dance of what you know is inevitable: Butler and Tania getting together.I REALLY loved Tania. She was feisty, independent, but vulnerable and had so much courage: she was scared to trust in love again and yet she refused to live into anymore "just" moments. She was determined to follow her heart and live an authentic life, even if it meant she might be hurt. Her faith in her feelings for Butler and her determination to see where their relationship might lead was inspiring.I must admit that Butler had to grow on me bc I thought he was an A-hole personified in the earlier books. Just goes to show you that everybody's got a story and everyone has something worth redeeming. My mother told me a long time ago that everyone has some good in them: if you don't see it, you haven't dug down far enough and its your loss, not theirs. That was really true of Butler: he was a lot like those antiques Tania kept finding: they seem to be useless pieces of junk to the naked eye, but if you are willing to look a little longer, spend a little more time with it, you see the treasure underneath, the rust is part of its journey, but there is still a treasure waiting to be discovered if you are patient.I also loved that Finger had a prominent role in the book: I grew to love Butler but Finger still has my heart: I CAN'T wait to read his story!!!! I also liked Alicia and hope she's featured in her own book soon.I really could go on and on about this book, but the bottom line for me is reading Cat Porter books is like eating hot fudge sundaes, or whatever your guilty pleasure is. You want to rush to finish it bc Its so good but you also don't want it to end bc you want to savor every last drop.If you want to read about sexy, complicated, badass bikers, with golden souls underneath their rugged exteriors, if you want to read about independent, feisty, take-no-prisoners women who are willing to hang in there when the going gets rough but they also don't take any BS off their men, then by all means, join the other CP fans for a fantastic journey into the landscape of the One Eyed Jacks' stories. These are the kind of stories that you will want to read again, and for me, that's a rare treat indeed!
