Product Description

After four years of struggling with infertility we finally adopted Emmie. I was working full-time and in night school for a year after she came to us. I left early in the morning and came home late at night so I I had limited time with her. Then I got sick for about a week and decided to quit school and spend much more time at home. I picked up my guitar after a long time of not playing and many of these songs sprang forth. I felt like they were pulled out of me, often late at night. Because these songs, and others I have written, were a gift to me, I've had the conviction over the years that I wanted to offer them to those of you who might relate to the struggles, the sorrow, the humor, and the joy of this crazy process of trying to have a child and finally adopting one. So, after years of delay and five years of fitting in time in the studio, this project has finally given birth. I'm joined by Treasure Camero, a beautiful vocalist, and other musicians playing keyboard, flute, and percussion. I offer this album of songs to you and to others with love. Though many of these songs speak directly to those who have experienced the ups-and-downs of infertility and adoption, I think that songs like "Low Grade Fever," "Looking for Someone to Blame," and "Strong of Heart" address the more universal struggles in our lives. I would also love to hear your stories. Perhaps some of them will be turned into songs. You can e-mail me; I look forward to hearing from you, and you can look forward to at least one future album with more songs about infertility and adoption.
