Horror movies are my hobby. Generally my one rule is I only collect movies from the year 1989 and prior (due to the fact I was born in 1990). I digress however..."Blood on Satan's Claw" is a solid film from 1970's Britain. This is a prime example of the short-lived subgenre of "folk horror"; relying on rural atmospheres, small setting paranoia, and often suppressed evil of either man or history. Some of the other examples more examined would be "Witchfinder General" or the classic staple "The Wicker Man". I counted three, yes THREE scenes were they legitimately had me on the edge of my bed waiting in a pitch black room. This was decades before the advent of the garbage Hollywood yanks off its teet every quarter to make money. This movie BoSC is a buried treasure of classic horror and retro-Satanic panic all culminating into an incredibly well made, atmospheric, and truly creepy film that I will recommend to any friend or horror buff.
